Jessica Diggins finished third overall in the 2017–18 Tour de Ski, becoming the first American woman on the overall podium, and bettering her previous best of fifth place in the previous edition.

Diggins earned bronze in the women’s sprint at the 2022 Winter Olympics, becoming the first American to win an individual Olympic medal in a cross-country sprint.

She went on to win silver in the women’s 30-kilometer freestyle on the final day of the Olympics, giving the United States its final medal.
