Tina Knowles-Lawson was born Célestine Ann Beyoncé on 4th January, 1954 in Galveston, Texas, United States. Lumis Albert Beyincé, a longshoreman, is her father, and Agnes Deréon, whose occupation is unknown, is her mother. Apparently, she is the youngest of a family of seven children. Accordingly, Knowles an African-American with Louisiana Creole origin and grew up as a devout Catholic.

In terms of her academics, she is a high school graduate. The details of her educational institution, although, are undocumented. As per some sources, Knowles was a member of a singing group named the ‘Veltones’ when in high school.
